Notice of Public Hearing

TO:

ALL RESIDENTS OF THE WELLSBORO AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT, Tioga County, Pennsylvania

Please take notice that a public Hearing will be held by the Wellsboro Area School District, in the Auditorium of the Wellsboro Area High School, Nichols Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901 on September 12, 2000 at 6:30 P.M. prevailing time, for the purpose of reviewing all relevant matter relating to the Additions and Alterations to the Charlotte Lappla Elementary School for the Wellsboro Area School District (the "Project").

A description of the Project including facts with respect to educational, physical, administrative, budgetary and fiscal matter related to the Project, will be presented and will be available for consideration at such public hearing and from August 22, 2000 until such public hearing during business hours of the School District at the District Offices, Wellsboro Area School District, Administration Building, 2 Charles Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901.

The Board of School Directors of the School District by resolution duly adopted has authorized a "maximum project cost" of $4,928,640 Dollars and a "maximum new building construction cost" of $2,122,998 Dollars in connection with the Project.

The public hearing is held pursuant to the requirements of the Pennsylvania School Code of 1949, and approved March 10, 1949, as amended and supplemented, including amendments made pursuant to Act 34 of the Session of 1973 of General Assembly.

Anyone wishing agenda time at the public hearing should contact, by letter, the Secretary of the Board of School Directors on or before 5:00 pm, Friday September 8th 2000.

Additional comments and testimony will be received from the floor at the public hearing. Any and all interested persons may submit written testimony or comments to the Secretary of the Board of School Directors until 5:00 P.M., October 19th, 2000.
