Lionville Elementary School has undergone 26,000 square feet of new construction and the renovation of 17,500 square feet of existing area, resulting in additional pupil capacity and new and expanded educational and core support facilities. An addition at the rear of the school houses a multi-purpose room, which can be divided for physical education and cafeteria use, a kitchen, a large group instruction area, and a stage which can be used as a music instruction area. New construction at the front of the school building includes new administrative, guidance and health offices. Much of the original school building, which was built in 1960 with an addition in 1964, has been reconfigured to accommodate a new library, computer lab, communications center, new art and music areas, as well as additional classroom and planning space. All existing classrooms have been repainted, floor finishes replaced or repaired, and new lighting installed.
