With nearly 40 years of experience in the architectural arena, Tom Reed possesses that rare combination of design excellence and people skills that make him essential to the management of McKissick Associates as Director of Architecture. Past experience with other firms in the same capacity and as production manager and as field administrator provide his present associates with a wealth of experience from which to draw. Vern McKissick said, "He's a natural leader, responsible for creating the kind of environment for developing young architects and gives design professionals the perspective of the engineering discipline and a respect for the types of issues faced by contractors in the field &endash; while pushing them to reach for creative solutions to challenges which arise in course of a project." Tom joined McKissick Associates in 2003 with considerable experience, particularly in the discipline of educational facilities design. He adds significant depth to the breadth of experience within the growing firm. Tom divides his time between Altoona, Pennsylvania and Harrisburg, maintaining a home in the former and an apartment in the latter during the week.
