Principal's Message Vern L. McKissick III, AIA   This newsletter has been created as a forum for informing clients, construction managers, contractors, government administrators, city planners, school districts, historical societies and other interested individuals about the architectural industry, important developments and trends, as well as letting you know who we are, what we do, and why we are here. I thought in my first message I would provide a brief overview of McKissick Associates. We are a full-service architectural firm with areas of specialization in educational design and planning, historic preservation, and sustainable design. Our staff includes three award-winning registered architects, a nationally recognized educational facility planner, a certified structural engineer, three LEED™ (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) registered professionals, a certified historic preservation specialist, an interior designer and numerous support staff members. Located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, we are headquartered in a historic building overlooking the Susquehanna River, giving our firm immediate access to numerous state agencies and related associations. My wife and I launched McKissick Associates in 1999 with the vision of forming an entity that would focus on providing quality architectural design services along with attention to detail, attention to the community surrounding the project and attention to accountability. Our highest priorities are client satisfaction and architectural excellence. Our commitment to this vision is truly the foundation of our family-owned and operated firm which now consists of nearly 20 talented architects and skilled staff.
